There is news for Chinese tourists arriving in Italy. At Malpensa Airport this morning was inaugurated WELCOME TO ITALY Access Point, the first information desk aimed at providing information, services and assistance to travellers from China visiting our country. The Milan Malpensa Access Point is not only a point of cultural exchange, but also an opportunity to understand consumer needs. Passengers will be able to access useful information regarding transport, shopping and the attractions of the city and region through a special QR code. This QR code will allow them to access YesMilano's WeChat channel, providing immediate access to all the information they need.

The project was jointly realised by SEA Airports of Milan, Italy China Council Foundation-ICCF and Guang Hua Cultures et Media (ITALY). The new service was launched this morning with a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by Armando Brunini, Managing Director SEA Aeroporti di Milano, Mario Boselli, President Italy China Council Foundation - ICCF and of Manqing Fang, Director Guang Hua Cultures et Media Italia. The inauguration was attended by Liu Kan, Console General of the People's Republic of China in Milan and Barbara Mazzali, Councillor for Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Fashion, Lombardy Region as well as Cristiano Varotti, China Country Manager ENIT.

We enthusiastically welcome this new initiative that confirms our commitment to services for the Chinese market - declares Armando Brunini, CEO of SEA Milan AirportsWith the arrival of new companies and the consolidation of those already present, Malpensa connects Milan and the whole of northern Italy to China, offering direct flights to 7 of the main Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Wenzhou, Hong Kong, Nanjing, Shenzhen and Zhengzhou. Currently, Air China, Cathay Pacific, Juneyao Airlines, Hainan Airlines and Eva Air operate out of our airport with the connection to Taipei. In addition, we are the only Italian airport with a direct connection served by an Italian carrier, Neos, offering a total of 32 weekly frequencies. We are the fastest growing gateway in Europe and are a candidate to be one of the preferred gateways for traffic from China“.

'The Italy China Council Foundation's mission has always been to act as an intermediary between Italy and China - declares Mario Boselli, President Italy China Council Foundation-ICCF - and we are proud to have coordinated a project that sees the synergy between an Italian entity, SEA, and a Chinese one, Guang Hua Media et Cultures, both our partners. We consider this initiative a useful and functional service for Chinese tourists who, we are certain, will return in increasing numbers to visit our country. Italian beauty and lifestyle are recognised all over the world, and loved in particular by the Chinese: so offering them a good welcome from the moment they arrive is certainly the best way to ensure that our peninsula remains a desired destination, towards which flows from the East can continue to grow steadily'.

"The company GUANG HUA CULTURES & MEDIA was founded in 1983 in Paris and celebrated its 40th anniversary last January - says Manqing Fang, Director Guang Hua Media et Cultures (ITALY). During these 40 years, the company has become a transnational cultural and information group. We invest considerable resources in new information technologies and websites in six languages: Chinese, French, German, English, Italian and Spanish. In addition to the information sector, our company has established six cultural centres in: Paris, London, Frankfurt, Vienna, Rome and Madrid, founded as many Chinese language schools, publishing houses and travel agencies. Overall, the company now plays an increasingly prominent role in promoting cultural exchanges between European countries and China. Bringing more and more of our peoples closer together is the main aim of the WELCOME TO ITALY Access Point'.
