There is a new piece in the Italy China Council Foundation-ICCF's mission to support companies and their internationalisation activities: it is located in Guangzhou (Canton), more precisely in the Nansha District. Here ICCF has activated an office of strategic importance for our Association, because it is aimed at supporting Members and companies with operations in China and Italy in their business activities. This is an important initiative, which allows ICCF to further strengthen the connection between Italy and China - after the difficulties caused by the pandemic - and to make itself an active part of Sistema Italia on the spot, actively supporting the projects and initiatives promoted by our country, also through the Embassy and Consular Offices.

"The opening of an office in China, in one of the most important areas for bilateral economic relations as the Greater Bay Area, represents an important step for the ICCF to achieve the objectives that our association has set itself, to be a reference point at the service of members, companies and institutions of both countries in order to increase bilateral relations," says Mario Boselli, ICCF President -. The opening of an office directly in China allows us to optimise and facilitate the contacts and activities that we can carry out while also improving the flow of information and news. With the activation of the office in Guangzhou-Nansha, gathering the needs of our membership base, ICCF comes out stronger and operates more in line with its mission".

The new ICCF office, which will be supervised by our Delegate for China, Dr Raphael Cooper, is located, as the only Western entity, within the structure called Home of Hong Kong and Macau Associationsan area of aggregation established at government level and involving dozens of associations and organisations in Hong Kong, Macao and Guangdong. Through the centre it is possible to benefit from services and all-round support to promote contacts and business in China, and in particular in the Greater Bay Area (the area between Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macao).

Guangzhou-Nansha is located on the Pearl River estuary, right in the middle of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), and is the only sea access to the city of Guangzhou. Spread over an area of 803 square kilometres, and with a population of 1.2 million, Nansha is a key location for the development of the Greater Bay Area project: it is home to, among others, important automobile production and export bases and industrial clusters of Chinese and international advanced equipment. It is also home to numerous national-level scientific research institutes and incubators, such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Finally, Nansha is a key hub for financial platforms, the development of maritime logistics and international trade, scientific and technological innovation, and high-end manufacturing industries.
